πŸš€ Campaigns

Campaigns are coordinated contribution drives within the Stellar ecosystem - defined, focused periods where maintainers and contributors work together toward a common goal. This is what GrantFox is based on. They help keep collaboration exciting, structured, and high-impact. 🌟

What a Campaign is

A Campaign is a coordinated period where multiple projects across the ecosystem stay active at the same time - creating momentum, consistency, and visibility for ongoing open-source work.

During a Campaign:

  • πŸ› οΈ Maintainers publish project issues.

  • πŸ‘©β€πŸ’» Contributors apply, get assigned, and deliver their work.

  • πŸ“Š GrantFox tracks overall activity, participation, and progress.

When the Campaign ends, all contributions made within its window are summarized and verified, turning short bursts of work into ecosystem-wide impact. 🌌

How it works

1️⃣ Campaign opens – GrantFox announces the start date and duration (for example, 3–4 weeks). 2️⃣ Projects onboard – Maintainers sync their repos and list active issues within the Campaign with the corresponding tag. 3️⃣ Contributors join – Builders browse available issues, apply, and start working. 4️⃣ Reviews & merges – Maintainers review and approve PRs as usual, keeping the flow transparent. 5️⃣ Campaign closes – At the deadline, GrantFox summarizes results: merged PRs, active contributors, and ecosystem progress.

Why Campaigns matter

  • πŸ—“οΈ Clear timelines: everyone works within the same start and end date.

  • πŸ” Ecosystem visibility: activity across projects becomes easy to track and celebrate.

  • πŸ’¬ Structured engagement: maintainers know when to onboard, review, and close contributions.

  • ⚑ Momentum: contributors feel part of a larger push, creating collective energy around open source.

Example

πŸͺ β€œCampaign 03 – Stellar Builders Sprint” Over three weeks, multiple Stellar projects open issues for contributors. Maintainers handle applications, assignments, and reviews during the same period. When the campaign closes, all contributions are verified and highlighted in the ecosystem summary - showing real progress and growth.

Campaigns turn continuous collaboration into clear, time-based progress, keeping open source on Stellar active, organized, and alive. πŸ’«
