The GrantFox team acts as both the platform administrator and the neutral dispute resolver when collaboration doesn’t go as planned. Our mission is to keep the ecosystem fair, transparent, and healthy - not to control it, but to protect the integrity of open-source work. ⚖️
Our role
🧩 Ecosystem oversight: ensure that projects listed on GrantFox meet quality and activity standards.
🧠 Moderation: review and handle reports of abuse, spam, or misconduct.
🪶 Governance: define and evolve the guidelines that keep collaboration consistent across Stellar projects.
🤝 Dispute resolution: act as a neutral third party when contributors and maintainers can’t agree on results or process.
When we step in
GrantFox intervenes only when collaboration between a maintainer and a contributor reaches a deadlock, for example:
🧩 A typical case: A contributor delivers work for an issue, but the maintainer repeatedly requests changes. After several rounds of revisions, both sides disagree on whether the requirements were met. Communication becomes tense, and progress stalls.
In these cases, the contributor or maintainer can request a dispute review directly within the platform.
What GrantFox does as a dispute resolver
🕵️ Collect context: We review the full trail - issue description, application, feedback, commits, and review comments.
🗣️ Hear both sides: Each party can provide a short explanation of their position.
⚖️ Evaluate objectively: We determine whether the contributor fulfilled the agreed scope or if additional changes are justified.
📄 Deliver a resolution:
If the work meets the requirements → the contribution is verified and credited.
If not → clear guidance is provided for final adjustments or closure.
Our goal is to protect fairness for both parties, avoid unnecessary tension, and maintain project trust.
