Applying to issues

Once you’ve found a project you’d like to contribute to, the next step is to apply to a specific issue.

How to apply

Inside each issue page, you’ll see an “Apply” button.

Clicking it will open a short input field where you should leave a meaningful comment. This is your opportunity to introduce yourself and explain why you’re a good fit for the task.

We strongly recommend including:

  • a brief summary of your experience

  • how you would approach or solve the issue

  • any relevant context (similar work, tools, or technologies you’ve used)

Clear and thoughtful applications make it easier for maintainers to select the right contributor.

After you apply

  • you’ll be marked as a candidate for that issue

  • maintainers will review applications from all interested contributors

If you’re selected, the issue will be officially assigned to you, and that’s your signal to start working. 🚀

Quality matters more than speed. A short but well-written application will always stand out more than a generic message.
